TEDx Hult London:

MINDS AT PLAY

This event focused on highlighting various people from different industries demonstrating problem-solving and critical thinking skills, therefore influencing the theme: "Minds at Play”.

I was tasked with the creation of the custom TEDx ‘X’, as well as relevant thematic social communication materials for the promotion of the event.

Making a custom X:

Brainstorming Ideas

I sketched up several ideas based on what I first thought of when I heard ‘Minds at Play’. I first started with a straightforward design, where two brains were fighting each other on top of the Colosseum-inspired ‘X’. I then started to think of some well-known games that required players to use their minds, such as Tetris, Scrabble, and Poker, sketching up some designs based off these games.

The Final Design

The final design was inspired by Scrabble, a game that encourages players to build their skills on strategic thinking, linguistic capabilities, and concentration. Letter tiles were made and laid out to make the name of the organisation and the event. A more simplified version was made with just the letter tiles to use for merchandise.

Promotional Materials

Each of the materials were posted on Instagram and LinkedIn. All designs utilised the manipulation of the letter tiles to imitate an actual Scrabble game.

Physical Material

Quad Posters

These were displayed on the way up to the theatre, where the talks took place.
