The first thing I picked up was a crayon.

In Korea, we have something called “돌잔치” (Doljanchi) - a celebration of a baby’s first birthday. During this celebration, a table of multiple items are set in front of the baby - a pencil/crayon, string, money, and rice. For my first birthday, I picked up a crayon. And from there on, there was no going back.

My story with art and design started primarily through my mother, who worked as graphic designer and (later on) interactive artist. I had the privilege of observing my mother as she pursued interactive art, taking part in her projects, and gaining a first-hand experience with how people interact with art.

Growing up in Singapore as a Korean-Sri Lankan, I’ve had the opportunity to experience and learn about multiple cultures. This has influenced the way I think and create - I love to draw influence from both of my cultures, as well as my experience with people from all around the world.

I’m currently pursuing a Bachelor’s in Business Administration with a Marketing Major at Hult International Business School in London, United Kingdom.
