Creating a Personal Brand:

SHEAN 쉔

I created my own personal logo as part of a design course that could represent not just my work, but also myself as an individual.

For the past few years, I had been developing my own character based on my dog, Harry. This project focused on converting that illustration into a representative logo.

Initial Sketches and Vision Board

As a Korean-Sri Lankan, I wanted to create a logo that represented my cultural identity, as well as my love for my dog, Harry. Since my name was given by my Sri Lankan family, I decided to gain inspiration from Korean letters and seals for the design.

The Final Visual Representation

The final representation focuses on using the letters of my Korean name ‘쉔‘ and manipulating the placing to replicate the shape of my dog. The typography of my English name was inspired by the traditional Korean letter typography that is typically used in Korean dojangs’ (도장)/ seals.
